The firm is comprised of James B. Innes and wife, Amy J. Innes. James and Amy both graduated from NOVA Southeastern School of Law in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and moved back to Moyock to be close to family members. Amy is an active member of the Currituck County School Board and is otherwise an active member of the community. James is a member of the advisory board for a local bank. They have more than 21 years of combined legal experience.

While James began a general practice, the firm quickly began to focus on real estate transactions and closings, an area in which he has always had a lot of interest. Both James and Amy focus primarily on real estate closings - purchases and refinances.



Who we are





james b. innes



James emigrated from Scotland in 1982 and grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia. He attended George Mason University obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Economics. He attended Nova Southeastern University School of Law and received the Book Award in Accounting Issues for Lawyers. In addition to academics, James was the founding member of the Nova Health Law Club. James clerked and was thereafter an associate at a commercial litigation firm in Florida prior to their move back to Moyock.



Amy J. innes



Amy grew up as an "Army Brat" traveling around the world and settled in Fairfax County, Virginia. She attended George Mason University in Northern Virginia and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Economics. She attended Nova Southeastern University School of Law in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, graduating in the top 15% of her class. In addition to receiving the Book Award in Florida Constitutional Law, she served as the Executive Editor of the Journal of International and Comparative Law. Amy also clerked for a personal injury attorney in Florida prior to their move back to Moyock.
