Amy grew up as an "Army Brat" traveling around the world and settled in Fairfax County, Virginia. She attended George Mason University in Northern Virginia and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Economics. She attended Nova Southeastern University School of Law in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, graduating in the top 15% of her class. In addition to receiving the Book Award in Florida Constitutional Law, she served as the Executive Editor of the Journal of International and Comparative Law. Amy also clerked for a personal injury attorney in Florida prior to their move back to Moyock.
